Why are goat poop round and not sausage like most? In goats, as in rabbits, the muscles of the sphincter ( annular muscle ) they contract very quickly and rhythmically, so their poop turns out to be small and round, well, almost the same size. The shape of the poop is due to the rapid contraction of the rectal muscles. Goats eat no less wet food than cows or horses, so the amount of liquid in this case has nothing to do with it.
